[14/09/09] AADS & Melancholika

Over the course of the day, a plot line for the 1st case has been written by Matthew Hempstead, the story wright and game designer, for the currently unnamed Ace Attorney fan game announced yesterday. A demo should be expected by the end of September.

Artist ALGraphics, the artist who worked on Operation Libra, has also composed some concept art revolving around the prosecutor of the case, "Deimos Aries".

Another game project, lead by game designer Choi Hyun-Woo, has also been announced, due for August 2010. Currently named "Melancholika", the project team is currently composed of 3 artists, 2 game designers, 1 game programmer and 3 story wrights. the game is set to be a Fire Emblem-esque game, revolving around a futuristic theme. Annie Que, the story wright for this project, has written an introduction for the game, including a back story:

"A big disaster has destroyed everything that was known to man, the only ones that survived were children. The world is now shattered to pieces. Many new species of human were also created during the disaster (genetic mutation). Magic becomes the new "technology". Only the members of one specific species can travel between worlds freely. These children grow up and establish a new government (council that involves all the species) to govern the new world. A few generations later, when the old world becomes a legend in the new people's minds, the government becomes corrupt and discovers a manuscript from the old world that allows for technology."

I will be working on both projects during the course of the next year with a productive task team in each. Any further updates of either games will be announced.

[13/09/09] Ace Attorney DS Update

I am planning on continuing development on my previously-released visual novel engine,
Ace Attorney DS. It was brought to my attention by the good people at Court-Records that the previous version I had released, in March 2009, was both unstable and incomplete, leaving a lot of space for improvement.

For those who don't know what Ace Attorney DS is, it's basically an engine used for the emulation of an "Ace Attorney" game, a simulation revolving around the life of an attorney. Throughout the game, you interrogate witnesses, press suspects and gather enough evidence to prove the innocence of your client. Using the Ace Attorney DS engine, the user can make his own Ace Attorney fan games.

I have chosen to re-do the entire engine from scratch and release it WITH a full-length case example to demonstate its functionality.

With the help (artists/story-wrights) offered by peers at my school, we will be working on releasing a full, five-case Ace Attorney fan game, due to enter the Neoflash Spring 2010 Competition. Good luck to anyone else attending, I'll see you there.

[11/09/09] Operation Libra News

Just recently received the news about Operation Libra from Neoflash regarding the Neoflash Summer 2009 Competition results.

It was good news.

No.1 [NDS GAME] Operation Libra By: B12Core
However, I will have to patch up the glitches discovered by a very helpful reviewer, Kasumi:

After these glitches are patched up, I will be releasing a final revision for Operation Libra, under the support of the newly-released devkitARM v26.

I already have some new games designed out and have compiled a team of students (artists/musicians/storywrights) willing to accompany me on this task. Any further details of these new games will be made known in a future post.
